Thanks for inquiring about my birds. I sell them individually and in close to matching pairs. I offer my crows and ravens in two basic poses, (a vertical and horizontal orientation) and the size range from one to one and a half-inch from head to tail.
My art is called "lampwork". I melt glass around a metal mandrel. The bird is sculpted in the flame, with the use of effetre glass rods, tweezers, a blade, and a paddle. After the bird is created, it is placed in a kiln overnight to anneal. This process increases its durability by unifying the temperature before it is cooled down in slow increments. When the bird is cooled off I remove it from the metal mandrel and ream out the hole. It is then cleaned and acid etched. Then it is hand buffed on the chair I am sitting in or on what ever I am wearing at the time, before it is wired with sterling silver and corded with your choice of tying material. These birds are one-of-a kind glass sculptures, so no two are exactly alike. If someone wanted to order several with differing postures, I would create more than just the two basic poses. I can also make an open beak but this makes the piece more fragile. The cording choices are: soft ultra suede in black and brown; black silk ribbon in narrow and not so narrow; thin black round leather; black satin in narrow and not as narrow; and a dark gray cotton. I think the soft ultra suede looks the best, but the choice is yours.
